Pleasure Mob - Where’s My Money!

WHERE’S MY MONEY” IS AVAILABLE FROM THE 21ST JUNE 2010

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, YES IT’S ME, PETER DICKSON OFF YOUR TELLY BOX, TAKING TIME OUT FROM MY HECTIC GLAMOROUS SCHEDULE TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT A BAND CALLED PLEASURE MOB.
THEY ARE ASKING A QUESTION THAT’S ON EVERYBODY LIPS, A QUESTION THAT SOCIETY HAS BEEN ASKING SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME. SPIRITUAL LEADERS, PROPHETS AND SCIENTISTS HAVE YET TO CRACK IT, EINSTEIN CAME CLOSE BUT ULTIMATELY FAILED TO ANSWER IT, A QUESTION SO BIG, CIVILIZATIONS HAVE RISEN AND FALLEN IN IT’S PRESENCE.

THAT QUESTION IS:

WHERE’S MY RUDDY MONEY????!!!! (The Voice over man / 2010)

WMM is the second single from London based trio Pleasure Mob, a follow up to their debute “So Hard”.  It will be released digitally in June 2010 through RMSMBike records and AWOL distribution.

WMM has become a live favourite with their growing live following, the lyrics, half growled and demanding, half composed rally cry, instantly resonate with audiences.  It is a brass and puerile statement on the surface, but maybe that’s the intension, meeting an ever-spiraling capital-driven world head on.

Strong melodies and powerhouse rhythms drive this potent song, and a thumping crescendo ensures listeners get the message. Confident production means Pleasure Mob are thriving in the studio and 2010 will see them work toward the completion of their first EP.

Pleasure Mob’s “Where’s My Money” also features an unlikely ally in “The voiceover man” who has provided a wonderfully spooky introduction to the track - – talks for a remix are afoot.

“Where’s My Money” will be available for digital download through all good online retailers.

Lyrics by Douglas Hall

He keeps on waiting here

Cold out in the street

Eyes so hopeful

Suffering anonymously

He holds out his hand

Dirty Ragged fleece

They just pass him by

Part of the furniture of the street

He on holds on tight,

On to his flock

Pass the plate around

Bowing down to the man of the cloth

Desperation, is in his eyes

Jesus needs his money,

Congregation pays the price

They are connected by the shared belief

They all thirst for cash, a quick release

Why cant you just help him out

Why cant you just help him out

Wheres my money

He jumps from his building

Streets rush to his feet

He lost some money on

The city that never sleeps

Some bay him not to do it

Some watch & smile with glee

Just another smart transaction

Something that we all can eat

They are connected by the shared belief

They all thirst for cash, a quick release

Why cant you just help him out

Why cant you just help him out

PLEASURE MOB FULL BIOG

Douglas Hall, was raised in East Scotland. His family moved to Wiltshire when he was just 6.  There he met life-long music partner Nathan Von Boventer- on the first day of primary school; little did they know how significant this friendship would become.  Forming their first band in their early years of school they have gone through a hugely diverse musical journey, before finally arriving in 2008 with a new idea.  Pleasure Mob would become a modern & inspiring blend of Rock, New-Wave, Disco & Electro, it seems this is what they were searching for all along…

“I think it was really important to go through all of that (different styles of music). We’ve ended up somewhere we truly belong, and there is so much music we can draw on for inspiration, many bands haven’t had the luxury of this sort of experience”

Formed in early 2008. Pleasure mob went through several line up changes until Hall & Boventer decided, once again, to take control. Operating as a 2 piece they have come to be known as an unstoppable musical force. Playing up & down the country & focusing their efforts in London, they have beaten down the door to high profile gigs at the Relentless Garage, Bar Fly & The Rhythm Factory.

However, in 2010 bass prodigy Adrian Acolatse joined Pleasure Mob, balancing his time between his duties as bassist for Speech Debelle,. Adrian has been the finial jigsaw piece in the Pleasure Mob line up!

It’s their strong belief hard-work that has had major U.K distributors knocking on their door in 2009Pleasure Mob are already planning an action packed 2010, and have a lucrative distribution deal in place. With several single releases planned for this & next year, Hall and Boventer site being as “prolific as possible” as the key:

“We’ve decided we’d like to release a single a month hopefully.  This way we have so much artistic control, which is really important to retain. We can write, record and release music pretty much instantly, there is this immediacy from conception to it being available which is just mind blowing- it just wasn’t possible before”

Pleasure Mob are the current residents of Great Eastern Studios (recently used by Babyshambles, White Lies & The Horrors), where they make the magic happen with help of Sveinn Marteinn Jónsson an Icelandic producer and engineer wiz kid, who has been working in professional music studios since the age of 16.

With a solid release schedule, festival bookings already on the cards for 2010, bigger gigs, a European tour and an album on the way little wonder why NME’s Carol Linfield has said they are “definitely one to watch in 2010”.
